Senior opportunity within global food company.  Our client, a highly successful blue chip company with an excellent reputation for producing quality products for a European/global customer base, is looking to recruit a Utilities Manager for one of its leading sites based conveniently to the NW and North Antrim.
 
The Role:
This is a significant role, managing a team of c. 5 individuals and responsible for driving energy efficiencies and setting the agenda for the 5 year plan.   Specifics include:  
  • Manage, control and optimise the site Environmental, Utilities and Services processes, equipment, control systems and settings constantly, while striving to improve quality, efficiency and safety.     You will be responsible for meeting customer requirements while ensuring the site is fully compliant at all times.
  • Manage the energy usage and carbon emissions on the site through the development of targets and objectives, implementing operational changes and improvement projects, measurement and monitoring of performance, identifying corrective actions and delivering continual improvement.
  • In-depth understanding into the significant drivers of energy on site, including utility assets (boilers, steam systems, compressed air plant, refrigeration equipment, effluent systems etc.) as well as operations impacts (production scheduling, cleaning cycles, shift operations etc).
 
Ideal candidates:
  • Degree qualified in Environmental, Manufacturing, Engineering or relevant Science discipline – a degree in Environmental Management would be ideal
  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar role, with at least 3 years in a supervisory/leadership role within Engineering Utilities
  • Up to date knowledge of local, national & regional codes of practice and regulations related to EUS
  • Experience with Steam, Water Treatment, Waste Water Treatment and Refrigeration systems would be a distinct advantage

  • Excellent remuneration package on offer to include a salary of c. £45k pa; up to 10% pension matched
