STEEL FIXERS

TechMet is recruiting on behalf of a leading precast  manufacturer for experienced Steel Fixers to join its Fabrication team. The role involves cutting and tying rebar steel reinforcement to drawing specifications for the civil engineering industry, in line with Health & Safety and quality standards.

The successful candidates will help ensure reinforcement cages are produced efficiently and ready within agreed timescales.

Hours: 6am–3pm or 7am–4pm, Based Ballymena – £32500- £35,000

Main Responsibilities

·         Cut, tie and prepare rebar steel reinforcement according to agreed specifications.

·         Communicate daily with the Team Leader regarding production progress.

·         Complete required production records, including timesheets.

·         Participate in training, continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives.

·         Work flexibly within the Production department and in any area required.

Essential Criteria

·         Proven knowledge and experience in steel fixing/steel tying operations.

·         Previous experience in manufacturing or construction.

Desirable Criteria

·         Ability to read technical/construction drawings or bar schedules.

·         Counterbalance forklift or overhead crane licence.

·         Experience on civil engineering projects.

·         CSR, First Aid or Fire Warden training.
