Software Engineer – Automation (Co. Antrim)

 
 
Exciting opportunity for an experienced PLC/ Software Engineer to join a thriving specialist design and high value manufacturing facility in Co. Antrim.    This organisation is a leader in its sector, developing world-leading technologies for specialist sectors and supplying complex and challenging automation solutions for the pharma/packaging sector. This is an opportunity for someone to continuously work on new projects with worldwide projects and full project lifecycle so will suit an innovative engineer with a flair for problem solving and eagerness to move way from standard routine PLC work
 
The Role:
    • Create & develop machine software solutions for special purpose automated machinery projects – projects mainly last for up to 1 year duration  
    • Work alongside Electrical and Mechanical design engineers and be involved in “cradle to grave” projects
    • Deliver control and safety systems which comply with appropriate standards, nationally and internationally  
    • Program and commission Robots  
    • Test and debug software applications and produce detailed test plans  
    • Carry out testing in factory and on customer sites  
    • Deliver projects to plan and budget  
 The Person:
    • HND/Degree in Electrical, Electronic of Software Engineer
    • Proven record of delivering machine control system projects
    • Experienced in automation and production machinery design
    • PLC and software application experience- ideally Rockwell
    • Vision systems experience very useful  
    • Robotics, HMI, Ethernet, Communications protocols experience would be advantageous as would ability to code in visual basic and C++
