Senior Buyer

Our client, based in the Mid Ulster area, is widely recognised as one of Northern Ireland’s leading and most successful growing companies within their niche Construction Buildings market. Due to ongoing expansion, a superb opportunity has now arisen for an experienced Buyer to take responsibility for the purchasing requirements of three companies.
The successful applicant will have an opportunity to build a long term career with a company that rewards excellence and performance. The post holder will be experienced in sourcing and ordering within the construction or engineering / manufacturing sectors.
 
SUMMARY OF KEY DUTIES:
  • Purchase goods, materials, components or services required by company
  • Ensure delivery schedules are met and achieved within budget
  • Manage and improve supplier chain performance
  • Provide accurate costings and all related information
  • Ensure supply of required goods and materials to support Production Schedule and manage any supply problems.
  • Explore alternate sources for goods and materials.
  • Build relationships with key staff, developing channels of communication to ensure availability of stock.
  • Work as team with design, production and financing to ensure that our end to end processes are as efficient and profitable as possible
 
THE PERSON:
  • You will currently be in a similar purchasing role with a minimum of 2-3 years relevant experience
  • You will have strong negotiation skills
  • You will enjoy working in a fast paced environment with strong planning and organisational skills
  • You will be an effective communicator both written and verbal
  • Working knowledge of implementing a Material Requirement Planning System
  • Experience of SAGE 200
 
SALARY:
  • A salary within the range of £35,000 – £45000 per annum will be on offer to the successful candidate. (Negotiable depending on experience).
