  A unique  opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Design Engineer with good Solidworks experience  to take their design capabilities and transfer them onto a major  project.  The individual will need to be a true Design Engineer but have the capability to have a real appreciation of welding and fabrication on a bigger scale and also have the ability to be a key driving force with a variety of very reputable stakeholders, all from different sectors in industry.  
 
This role will provide the individual the kudos of leading an entire multi million  metal work design project which will in turn be rolled out across one of the most recognisable brands in Ireland and the UK.  The person will  in turn have had full design responsibilities for the entire project – which will recognised by both peers and the general public;  such is the magnitude of the work.  
 
Summary-
To lead a new product design project and develop their knowledge in design & project management activities. You will work on various concept designs with internal and external stake holders, select suitable designs, detail design structural elements to meet required standards, plan and test manufacturing processes, complete full testing of prototypes and document the product manufacturing and installation requirements.
 
Essential Criteria:
Minimum 2:2 Degree essential  in Mechanical Engineering / Design or related.  
 
Desirable Criteria:
  • Experience in aluminium extrusion design, processing and system development.
  • 2+ years’ experience in a product development role.
  • 2 years leading delivery of engineered manufacturing projects, using AutoCAD & SolidWorks CAD.
