IT Support Specialist – Fermanagh


Unique opportunity based in Fermanagh for a market leading company.  The IT Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical support and assistance to end-users within the organization. This role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, resolving technical problems, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
  1. Technical Support: Provide first-line support to end-users, addressing hardware, software, and network issues. Respond to support requests via phone, email, or in-person.
  2. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical problems, including operating system, application, and connectivity issues. Escalate complex issues to higher-level support when necessary.
  3. Installation and Configuration: Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, software, and peripherals. Ensure all equipment is set up and functioning correctly.
  4. User Training: Assist users with IT-related queries and provide training on new systems and software. Create and maintain user guides and documentation.
  5. System Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as software updates, backups, and system monitoring. Ensure systems are secure and up-to-date.
  6. Asset Management: Track and manage IT assets, including hardware and software inventory. Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping.
  7. Customer Service: Maintain a high level of customer service, ensuring that end-users receive prompt and courteous support. Follow up on support requests to ensure resolution and satisfaction.
  8. Collaboration: Work closely with other IT team members to resolve issues and implement new technologies. Participate in IT projects and initiatives as needed.
The Ideal Candidate will have:
 
  • A minimum of 2 -3 years’ of experience in an IT support role.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Active Directory / Entra ID
  • Knowledge of networking principles and protocols.
  • Experience with IT service management (ITSM) tools.
  • Preferred Qualifications
 
Experience with remote support tools and techniques and familiarity with various software applications and enterprise systems.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP).
