ENGINEERING MANAGER, LURGAN
We are working with one of NI’s successful manufacturing companies which is involved in the design, manufacture and installation of a range of innovative components to the utilities industries.  Our client is now looking to recruit an Engineering Manager.
  
The Engineering Manager directs and leads the site engineering team and is responsible for all maintenance and site machine and facility capital on a large-scale 24/7 manufacturing operation. Leading by example, demonstrating ownership, and accountability, effective decision making and setting the tone for the company culture. You will have responsibility for the success of the Maintenance Department, with the Maintenance Supervisor and Planner as your direct reports.
Key responsibilities include:
    • Accountable for site asset availability ensuring asset plans are maintained for all site equipment. Use asset availability and scrap due to poor reliability measures to identify performance gaps and develop gap closure plans using tools such as planned preventative maintenance, Asset care plans, predictive maintenance, RCA, OPIP’s etc.
    • Responsible for all site fixed and variable productions costs due to maintenance including develop and control of annual budget and managing and reporting on actual spend to budget.
    • Support delivery of site capital plan inclusive of identifying opportunities for investment which will deliver measurable improvement, proposing annual CAPEX plan for approval, scoping out and submitting individual capital investment cases including scope, costs, return on investment, delivering capital projects from cradle to grave inclusive of post project review.
    • Be site SME (subject matter expert) on key HSE elements inclusive of permit to work, control of contractors etc and regulatory requirements including but not limited to PUWER, control of legionella, PSR, LOLER, F-gas, gas safe, electrical safety etc.
Qualifications & Education Requirements
    • Degree preferred in relevant subject either electrical or mechanical engineering.
    • Extensive experience in maintenance and project management with at least 5 years’ experience in engineering managers role at large scale manufacturing plant.
    • First class project & change management with experience of managing project portfolio of >£1 million per year.
    • Results focused individual with a Pro-active and self-motivated approach Adapting to fit the changing needs of the business as required with examples of positive changes made.
    • Excellent people manager with the leadership ability to inspire, engage, manage, organize, and develop a large engineering team ensuring succession plans are in place.  
    • The ability to work calmly under pressure ensuring decisions are always based on the needs of the customer without compromising site safety.
    • Experience in managing regulatory compliance, NEBOSH trained

    • Experience of extrusion or injection moulding processes.
