Excellent opportunity for an Engineering Lead to take up a role to oversee and co-ordinate the day-to-day running of an efficient and effective maintenance engineering section in a busy, fast moving manufacturing site.
This role will provide opportunity to lead engineering capital expenditure projects, so having either previous capex project experience or at least being comfortable with this aspect of the role will be vitally important.
This role will appeal to candidates commuting from the Derry City/Strabane/Lifford area.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Managing and organising the maintenance team rosters, developing work plans and ensuring work is completed.
- Assist the Maintenance team and Contractors in the completion of works and ensure that requests for all work is completed on time
The Person:
- Candidates will need to be experienced in handling large capital expenditure engineering projects or at least be confident to handle Capex projects
- A FMCG/Food background will be of particular interest
- Hold a 3rd level qualification eg HNC/D and most likely be time-served in mechanical engineering
- Have at least 5 years’ experience in a maintenance/engineering environment within an industrial manufacturing site.
- Strong mechanical systems knowledge including pumps, gearboxes, manual and relief valves, heaters, steam boilers etc.
- Good electrical knowledge, eg three-phase and single-phase motors, variable speed drives and switch gear
- Knowledge of automation such as PLC control and protection loops, pneumatics, hydraulics, relay logic, automated control and stop valves
- Knowledge of compressed air and refrigeration units, compressors etc
- Experience of Effluent Plant upgrades, whilst not essential, will be ideal
