ENGINEERING AND MAINTENANCE CO-ORDINATOR,  

 

THE ROLE

 

We are recruiting an experienced Maintenance Leader for our client, based in West Tyrone – part of a Group and one of Ireland’s most successful and forward looking progressive businesses.    This is an excellent company, with very low turnover and has a reputation for looking after its staff and providing opportunities for personal development within the organisation.  Excellent opportunity for a forward thinking Engineer with some leadership to develop their career in a daytime role, Monday to Friday.

 

Responsibilities Supporting the Engineering Manager in the day-to-day running of an efficient, effective and safe Maintenance/ Engineering section, coordinating, organising and assisting the site Maintenance Team and third party contractors, whilst supporting engineering initiatives to maximise production line efficiencies and researching and identifying new ideas and solutions in the improvement and development of the Site Engineering agenda. Liaise with suppliers and site Management on the installation of new equipment and spare parts management.  

 

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

 

* Third Level qualified in an engineering discipline OR Completed a recognised apprenticeship as a Mechanical technician  

 

* 5 years proven experience and knowledge in an engineering/maintenance environment within an Industrial Manufacturing setting

 

* Knowledge of:

 

 Mechanical systems – pumps, gearboxes, agitators, manual valves, relief valves, heaters, steam boilers, cooling towers and separators   

 

Electrical – three-phase and single-phase motors, variable speed drives and switch gear  

 

Automation – PLC control and protection loops, pneumatics, hydraulics, relay logic, automated control and stop valves.

 

* Compressed air and refrigeration units, compressors (chilled water systems), effluent plants, air and liquid -filtration.  

 

Desirable: Knowledge and experience working within the Food Industry

 

 

 

NB:   Candidates must already be eligible to work in the UK.
