The Software Systems Engineer develops, modifies and codes software systems programming applications. Responsible for evaluating and preparing system engineering and technical analyses; documents, proposals for change, and other technical documentation.
 
The Role:
 
• Key participant in the development of end-user tools for data analysis, reporting and work flow processes with database communication
• Collaborate on analysing the existing software and improving the processes
• Organize the Design and Test Lab departments on requirements of new functionality
• Key participant in integration of in-house software for our test equipment
• Taking part in on-site software debugging, machines further adaptation and optimization
 
Experience/Qualifications:
 
A university degree required (i.e. Bachelor’s degree) with a minimum of 2-3 year’s experience or equivalent relevant work experience (min 4+ years).
• Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers plus
 
Specific Responsibilities
 
To design, develop Production Test Equipment across the  manufacturing sites for the TPMS/MEMS/HTS/BMS/HVOR/INSIGHTS product families.
To integrate test equipment into automated production lines.
Document Software and Hardware of test equipment
Develop and debug new and existing test applications
To liaise with suppliers at a technical level to integrate their equipment and ours with each other, and the MIS managed quality and data traceability systems.
To liaise with the various product design groups to assist the hardware design process and APQP process when new production technology is required.
 
Essential Criteria
  • We will consider experience equivalent in place of formal education – 4+ years in a manufacturing environment (HND/BTech considers)
  • Working knowledge of a common programming language for e.g. C, C++ or C#
 
Desirable Criteria
  • Electronics design experience and experience  in production testing of electronic devices
  • Firmware design experience, C preferable plus
  • Experience in Full Design Life cycle from Requirements specification through to build
  • A Bachelor of Science/Engineering Degree in an Electronics/Software related discipline.
  • Occasional travel – 1-2 times maximum a year.
