Design Engineer/Draughtsman – steel fabrication
Are you an Engineer with steel fabrication experience, who can take a project from initial concept and translate it into design and through to manufacture on the shop floor?
Our client, based outside Belfast, is a manufacturer of architectural fabrication such as bespoke balustrades, staircases and architectural walkways and is looking for someone with shop floor experience of steel fabrication (commercial and industrial experience) and who can then translate the client’s brief to the end product. Will suit someone with strong, all-round design experience (construction sector would be an advantage). Each day will vary based on the current projects being undertaken, but examples of daily tasks include:
- Design for manufacture. All products being designed have to be feasibly manufactured in house.
- Maintaining correspondence with the operators on the shop floor and addressing issues as and when they arrive
- Detailed parametric modelling of an array of bespoke projects
The Person:
- High level of proficiency in a 3D Parametric Design Package – AutoCAD & Solidworks preferred.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
- Ability to accept accountability for actions
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Qualification in an engineering discipline
